On the way to and from the Morsum Kliff at the eastern side of the island of Sylt. It has been described as one of the most important geological monuments in Germany and stretches for almost two kilometres along the northeastern coast.

It is important to stay on the paths to protect the sensible environment.

The island of Sylt is famous for its thatched houses.

Thatching is the craft of building a roof with dry vegetation, layering it so as to shed water away from the inner roof.

Since the bulk of the vegetation stays dry and is densely packed and therefore trapping air, thatching also functions as insulation.
