On the way to and from the Morsum Cliff at the eastern side of the island of Sylt. It is important to stay on the paths to protect the sensible environment.

The island of Sylt is famous for its thatched houses. Thatching is the craft of building a roof with dry vegetation, layering it so as to shed water away from the inner roof. Since the bulk of the vegetation stays dry and is densely packed and therefore trapping air, thatching also functions as insulation.
