It looks like a lost town in the far west, but actually the far west of Germany at the border to the Netherlands.
This could also be somewhere in the tropics or a desert country, but in fact it is a small airport in the deserted countryside of Germany which had been a British military base before.
It is a difficult journey to reach Weeze Airport. First it is necessary to take several trains with no name to reach the town of Weeze and then the only option is a bus, but it is never clear what kind of bus. When travelling for a few days to go by car and parking it at the airport is a much easier option.
Despite its small size various destinations can be reached from here, almost exclusively used by one infamous airline, the largest one of Europe. I was on the way to Fes, Morocco.
