The Cantalloc Aqueducts are located four kilometres west of the city of Nazca in Peru. They were built by the Nazca culture and are part of a system of aqueducts called puquios which was built by the pre-Inca civilisation of Nazca about 500 CE.

The way from Lima to Nazca shows landscapes which look so special that one would expect them to be on another planet like Mars rather than on Earth.

Walking through the town of Nazca where the usual VW Beetle must not be missing.

The Nazca Lines are geoglyphs in the soil of the Nazca Desert in Peru. They were created between 500 BCE and 500 CE by people walking in certain patterns on the desert floor, removing pebbles and leaving differently coloured dirt exposed.

Early civilisations were always an interesting part of history for me, so it is every time fascinating to be at the sites where the history happened.

The way back from Nazca to Lima might have been slow at the beginning up and down the mountains but it provided special and spectacular views once more which looked almost like from another planet.
