The Place To Look Out From

Rolf’s Place is an old colonial building which previously had been a private residence and is nowadays a hotel. It is located some distance outside of Nairobi.

It is a remnant from the colonial past of Kenya. It had been a German protectorate from 1885 till 1890 and a British colony till 1962, known as British East Africa.

It is located at a valley and accessible either over a suspension bridge on foot, or from the other side. The view over the small valley reminds a little bit of the much larger Great Rift Valley.

When we were there no one was to be seen, it seemed like we were the only people there.

It is possible to walk there from Ongata Rongai, a suburb of Nairobi.

The city can actually be seen from the road as the landscape is very flat.
