The Mercedes-Benz 190 E or 190 D was the first smaller Mercedes and predecessor of the C-Class. Designed by Bruno Sacco, head of styling at Mercedes-Benz from 1975 to 1999, the W201 debuted at the 1982 Paris Motor Show. Manufactured in both Bremen and Sindelfingen, Germany, production reached 1,879,629 over its eleven-year model life. I was almost born in this car.

The W124 was the first official Mercedes E-Class, but after the facelift. This model is a Mercedes-Benz 300 E where the E still stood for “Einspritzung” which meant injection, so the engine works without a carburettor like all modern cars. The 300 means it is a 3.0 litre six cylinder engine.
