American imperialism is not always that obvious, usually it is hidden by the powerful American propaganda or Washington narrative, which turns the truth around and makes people believe certain countries and people were bad, exactly those who prefer freedom and individuality and don’t want to be an American colony.

As examples, Europe is declared good as most of it is an American colony while Russia is declared bad as it prefers to be independent.

As the majority of countries in the world prefer freedom and equality many of them applied to join BRICS which has the potential to end American hegemony and bring equality and peace.

America manages to start wars either directly by declaring them peace missions or war against terrorism or indirectly by threatening the safety of other countries until they start defending themselves, which is then displayed as an attack by western propaganda.

But even if they turn the truth around, it reads the same upside down if you are willing to see Both Sides of the Story.
