The leader of the Wagner Group Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin and nine other people have been killed in a plane crash on 23 August 2023 when his Embraer Legacy 600 Business Jet crashed in Tver Oblast. The fact that the parts of the usually very reliable plane were scattered over a large area lead to the conclusion that it was either hit by a rocket or destroyed by a bomb, the missing traces of a rocket make the second possibility more likely. Western propaganda claims that President Putin ordered the destruction but that seems to be unlikely since it caused problems for the president and regarding Putin’s history of diplomatic and considerate decisions.
