American imperialism is the reason for many conflicts and wars in the world, especially after the end of the Cold War around 1990 the US were the world power number one and were able to realise their interests in sometimes brutal ways but display themselves as defenders of democracy and freedom. However, the majority of the world, countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America know that America and the west only care about their own interests, therefore about 40 countries have applied to join BRICS which could realise a new world order of equality
