Rosberg X Racing won the final of the Ocean X Prix which took place on 30 May 2021 on a beach near Dakar, Senegal, to highlight environmental issues of the oceans.
The only other Odyssey 21 car to reach the finish line was the one of Veloce while JBXE and X44 retired due to suspension failures, in case of X44 due to contact with the car of RXR.
After the first lap the race was interrupted by red flag and the drivers were asked to wait in the switch zone while the retired cars were removed from the track. The second lap saw the Rosberg car winning with a huge advantage over Veloce.
Nico Rosberg himself was in the command centre, another success for him, who is investing into several projects to reduce CO2 emissions and build a better future, which is also the main aim of Extreme E and the reason why the series was founded.
