In case of the crash of Air France Flight 447 in June 2009 the FDR (Flight Data Recorder) and CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) could be found and recovered in 2011 after they were lying four kilometres deep in the Atlantic for two years, and they could still be read! Hopefully the black boxes of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 can also be found intact soon, the search still continues and more and more floor of the Indian Ocean were scanned already
