The Oh-my-god particle was first observed in Utah in 1991. It is a particle with an immense amount of energy, more than what was ever observed in a particle accelerator like the LHC at CERN. It was a shock to physicists, hence the name.
Most amazing is: It is travelling at 99.999…% of the speed of light! Everyone who knows a bit about physics knows that normally nothing except photons, the particles of light, can travel at or near the speed of light.
