There are three reasons to be a vegetarian and not a meat eater:
1. Ethical reasons, because animals are killed to get their meat.
2. Environmental reasons, because cattle is producing a lot of methane which is making the greenhouse effect much worse, and four times as many land is used for animals as is being used for normal agriculture.
3. Health reasons, because scientists found out that red meat can cause cancer, and vegetables are generally healthier.
On the other side, there are a few nutrients which don’t exist in completely vegan food, for example, but as a vegetarian you can eat cheese, or maybe it’s not too bad to eat fish or chicken sometimes, as long as it’s seldom.
Example shows the Indonesian dish Gado Gado.
