There are new findings in Brazil which show that there were humans much earlier than according to the established theory. According to the Clovis First theory people migrated from Asia via the Bering Straight to North America and from there to South America. That was when the ice sheets melted about 12,000 years ago. But the findings in Brazil were dated to around 30,000 years ago.
The question remains where these people came from. There were paintings of boats found in caves and on stone walls. But to go along the coast of the Americas is difficult, and the ways across the Pacific or from Europe are too long. So it is likely that they came from Africa. The fact that there is an ocean current flowing westwards and the Passat winds would support that theory. What’s more, paintings in Africa fit to those in Brazil, and astonishing is that skulls found there look similar to those of stone age people in Africa.
